MELBOURNE URBAN PLASTICS
- with Cam Whittam and Mick Kaksa
Melbourne is Australia's second largest city... a bustling metropolis of well over four million people. Yet, within a long cast of the city's towering urban skyline lies some exceptional sport fishing, as Cam and Mick so aptly demonstrate in this action-packed and highly informative story. The guys spend a morning out on Port Phillip Bay, throwing soft plastics for "pinkie" snapper and Australian salmon, then head up into the Yarra estuary through Melbourne's very heartland to mix it with some chunky black bream before finishing the day back out on the Bay. This one will definitely change many folk's perceptions of the fishing opportunities on the doorstep of our southern capital!
Steve 'Starlo' Starling and Mark 'Bargy' Bargenquast team up to put a couple of brand new lures through their paces on longtail tuna, mackerel tuna, queenfish and diamond trevally out on Bargy's back yard in Queensland's Hervey Bay. Not only is the action fast and furious, but you'll also learn plenty about chasing pelagics on plastics by watching this entertaining segment.
IMPOUNDMENT BASS ON FLY
- with Peter Morse and Matthew Langford
Morsie and Matt are working the warm waters of Bjelke-Petersen Dam, in south-eastern Queensland, chasing hard-fighting Australian bass and fat golden perch or yellowbelly. But instead of jigging plastics, cranking hard-bodies or rolling spinnerbaits, the guys are casting flies for these very popular fish, using a variety of fly line densities, leader lengths and fly weights to effectively target two wonderful Aussie natives at a range of depths. This was something new for Matt, and as he learns the ropes from the Master, so will you!
DEEP DIVING ESTUARY TACTICS
- with Mark 'Bargy' Bargenquast and Jackson 'Jacko' Bargenquast
Bargy and his young bloke, Jacko, are out trolling and casting some brand new deep-diving minnow style lures in a south-eastern Queensland estuary system, chasing the tides and searching for threadfin salmon, mangrove jacks and barramundi. There are some wonderful lessons in this information-packed segment for anyone chasing those species, as well as a host of other varieties living in both northern and southern waters.
CANOEING FOR MURRAY COD
- with Peter Morse and Ken Smith
For once, Morsie has left his beloved fly rod safely in its tube, as he and Ken Smith work the Macquarie River above Burrendong Dam, in central western NSW, for Murray cod, using big, deep diving plugs and baitcaster outfits. A sudden thunderstorm really turns the action on, and Peter nails a cracker!
FLATHEAD ON HARD BODIED LURES
- with Andrew 'Woof' Badullovich
Watch this wonderful segment and learn some great fishing tips from Andrew Badullovich as he specifically targets dusky flathead on hard-bodied lures in a southern estuary. Andrew talks in detail about choice of lures, rods and reels, boat positioning, rod manipulation during the retrieve and how to fight and land that fish of a lifetime. This is priceless stuff!
- with Roger Miles and Peta Walter-Haenke
Roger shows Peta all the tricks and tricks necessary to consistently catch golden perch or yellowbelly on lipless crankbaits or vibes in our inland rivers and dams. As Roger explains, there's a heck of a lot more to this game than many people realise, and those anglers who invest a little extra thought and effort will definitely benefit as a result.
